O MOST HOLY TRINITY, COME TO US WITH YOUR PERFECT LOVE!

Word Sharing Circle (WSC) Reflection Guide

– Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity

Community Word: We celebrate the transforming power of the Holy Spirit in our hearts.

Theme: The Holy Spirit empowers us with the Truth of God’s love that has been poured into our hearts.

Promise: “Everything that the Father has is mine… he will take from what is mine and declare it to you.” (Jn 16:15)

Reflection:

Today we celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity, the central mystery of our Christian faith – one God in three divine Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Though the Trinity is a mystery that surpasses full human understanding, it reveals something deeply personal and essential: that God is love, not only in action but in being. This divine love, shared perfectly between the Father, Son, and Spirit, is poured out, generously and freely, into our hearts.

In the Gospel of John (Jn 16:12-15), Jesus promises His disciples that the Holy Spirit will come to guide them into all truth. He says, “Everything that the Father has is mine… he will take from what is mine and declare it to you.” These words reveal the unity within the Trinity: all that belongs to the Father belongs also to the Son, and the Spirit takes from this fullness to reveal it to us. Through the Spirit, we are drawn into this divine relationship, not merely as spectators, but as beloved children, invited to receive and live out God's love.

Saint Paul gives us a glimpse of how this promise takes root in our lives: “The love of God has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.” (Rom 5:5). This outpouring is not a one-time gift; it is continuous, renewing, and life-sustaining. Even when we face trials, this love empowers us to endure. Paul outlines a spiritual progression: suffering leads to endurance, endurance shapes character, and character gives rise to hope, a hope that does not disappoint because it is grounded in God's love, not in worldly assurance.

This love is not something we achieve or earn. It is freely given. From the beginning of creation, God’s love has been active. In Proverbs 8, we hear wisdom speak of being with God from the start, delighting in the world and in humanity. It is a beautiful reminder that the world was made not out of necessity, but out of divine joy and generosity. God rejoices in us.

Also, Psalm 8, we are reminded of our dignity and vocation. “What is man that you are mindful of him?” (Ps 8:5), the psalmist asks in awe. God, who set the moon and stars in place, crowns humanity with glory and honor, entrusting us with care over His creation. What greater affirmation of our worth could there be?

The meaning of all this for us today is that we are not alone. The Spirit of God lives in us, reminding us daily that we are loved, forgiven, and called. The Spirit helps us understand who God is, not just intellectually, but relationally, as a Father who creates, a Son who redeems, and a Spirit who dwells within us. The Trinity is not an abstract doctrine but a divine communion that shapes the way we live, love, and serve.

Let us then open our hearts anew to the Holy Spirit, who continues to speak, to guide, and to declare the truth of God’s love to each of us, in every season of our lives. As Jesus promises us, “Everything that the Father has is mine… he will take from what is mine and declare it to you.” (Jn 16:15)

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, source of all life and love, we praise and adore You. We thank You for sending Your Son to redeem us, and for pouring out Your Spirit to dwell within us. Help us to live in the truth of Your love, to trust in Your presence in all circumstances, and to become vessels of Your mercy and grace. Holy Spirit, guide us into all truth. Remind us daily of what Jesus has spoken, and form us into people of faith, hope, and love. May the mystery of the Trinity draw us into deeper communion with You, so that our lives may reflect Your glory. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
